SALON DEL MAR NOW USES SCRUMMI SUSTAINABLE SINGLE USE TOWELS! Water is a precious resource and we are doing our part in reducing our footprint which is why we have replaced our salon towels with single-use, biodegradable towels from Scrummi. You receive your own high-grade towel, made from sustainably sourced, highly-absorbent wood pulp at each service. These towels perform better than microfiber, are chemical-free, and comfortably wrap to complete your relaxing shampoo experience.
It’s pretty crazy that single-use towels can be better for the planet, right? It all has to do with what salon towels are made from, how much laundry damages the planet and the fact that salon towels are typically mixed with plastic fibers, meaning they never return to the earth like Scrummi. These towels are certified compostable and return to the earth after the service.
Our Smocks and capes are now washed with EarthBreeze laundry sheets, eliminating plastic, vastly reducing the carbon footprint of laundry and saving water.

With Green circle, we recycle 95% of our salon waste, including color chemicals and hair.
Salons produce difficult-to-manage waste often contaminated with bleach, hair color, and other chemicals. A typical salon has high water consumption, high energy usage, and releases chemical by-product down the drain.

Human hair has purpose:
Green Circle manufactures hair booms for the purposes of oil spill cleanup. Human hair has the same adsorbent properties as an animal’s fur or feathers and proves extraordinarily effective at removing oil from water. We donate booms to any party in the event of an oil spill.

ECOHEADS salon showerheads are eco-friendly, professional grade showerheads designed specifically for the hair salon. They double the water pressure while cutting back on water use by 65%.
The unique filtration-system helps to reduce chlorine and generates negative ions as water goes through, which softens the hair for a smoother end result.
